The Senior Electrical Engineer – Generator Section shall have responsibilities as following tasks by providing cost effective, timely and efficient support, while ensuring the safety and in accordance with Company’s policies and procedures.
- To prepare bidding documents, evaluate bids, carryout clarifications, conduct meetings, review designs, engineering drawings, supervise the installation and commissioning activities related to electrical engineering works (but not limited to) of future and ongoing projects
- To assess existing facilities remaining lifetime through the confirmation of existing system operational risks
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Assist the development, implementation and regular review of policies, procedures and systems related the
Project to ensure consistent & systematic application of best practices and to improve operational performance.
Communicate the approved polices & procedures and instructions to subordinates and monitor their adherence so
that work is carried out in a systematic and controlled manner.
Support the development, documentation and communication of proper standard guidelines and procedure
manuals related to Project section to all concerned units, in line with literature, catalogues & manufacturer’s
manuals and company’s set technical standards.
Training and Development:
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Identify the training needs and establish job targets for all the jobs related to electrical engineering discipline in the
project site under direct supervision and implement the approved on-the-job training properly in accordance with
the ADOC training and development.
Leadership
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Provide effective leadership to building the electrical project team setting individual objectives, managing
performance, developing and motivating staff in order to maximize subordinate and departmental performance.
Evaluate & Recommend employees for training programs for skill enhancement to build a competent team.
Supervision of Contractors:
The Senior Process Engineer shall
In the event of outsourcing of any relevant installation and maintenance activities, regularly coordinate with the
contracting staff and thereby facilitate timely completion of tasks as per required Quality/HSE standards.
Monitor the quality of material, equipment and technical skills deployed in Processing Section services provided
by external contractors to ensure reliability, integrity and phased acceptance of their work in line with relevant
quality standards.
Conduct regular project review meetings with Contractors to discuss and resolve any technical issues as and
when required to ensure completion of all contracts in a safe and professional manner.
Resource Planning:
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Continuously monitor and review the project schedules to ensure project activities are implemented in a cost
effective and timely manner.
Identify material/equipment required for ongoing projects, notify urgent and emergency situations and coordinate
transportation of the same to facilitate timely availability of resources.
Processing & Utility System Operations:
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Monitor daily Company’s production facilities and operational ream activity to establish improvement plan.
Survey existing facilities and collect any data to assess existing facilities risks against the continuous operation.
Inspection & Mitigation:
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Monitor the operating and maintenance conditions of equipment and auxiliaries including chemical
treatment/injection rates by analyzing readings and conducting inspections of instruments to ensure that all
facilities are operating within set standards. Report abnormal conditions to the PI Manager.
Inspect and analyse equipment threats & hazards and ensure implementation of standard operating procedures
in order to maintain the integrity of all equipment and assure adherence to safety standards.
Operational Accountabilities:
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Prepare Tender document, evaluate bids, carry out technical clarifications, and arrange kick-off meetings related
to the electrical engineering works.
Review electrical engineering drawings wiring diagrams specification etc.
Monitor checks on electrical equipment; provide technicians with relevant documentation, support material, tools
and guidance to ensure the installation/calibration/commissioning activities are carried out as per directions while
attending to all non-conformances raised by team to ensure timely provision of solutions.
Supervise and execution of assigned project work site, adhering to ADOC’s set standards, policies and procedures.
Plan work with Head of Project Group, analyze priority of activities and ensure timely completion of tasks as per defined procedures & standards.
Manage, monitor and interpret the contract and design documents.
Monitor and review progress of each on-going jobs related to electrical engineering discipline (but not limited to), schedules, daily/weekly/monthly plans and liaise with foremen, contractor staff and other relevant authorities providing support and advice in the proper project execution within the set procedures, specifications and allocated budget.
Monitor the quality of electrical equipment, material and technical skills deployed in and services provided by contractors to ensure reliability, integrity and phased acceptance of their work in line with relevant quality standards.
Conduct regular project review meetings with Contractors to discuss and resolve any technical issues as and when required to ensure completion of contracts in a safe and professional manner.
Analyze / carry out risk assessments of all work orders and prepare Permit to Work (PTW) in order to ensure effective risk mitigation and completion of tasks as per ADOC –Quality/HSE procedures.
Day to day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring construction/installation work while resolving any unexpected technical difficulties and problem may arise.
Material Management:
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Assist the timely procurement of equipment and material for new projects and material transportation between Abu Dhabi & various sites in order to support the implementation.
Monitor stock and usage levels of materials, consumables and spare parts to ensure that items are available to meet requirements and that usage is consistent with budgeted assumptions.
Database Management:
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Updating of all data on time related to equipment, miles stones / schedules, budgets, etc. into the relevant databases to ensure reliability and integrity of the database to facilitate ease of future reference.
Relationship Management:
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Develop & maintain effective business relationships with all relevant internal departments with highest standards of business ethics, whilst promptly attending to all critical issues in-order to ensure the services required by the organization are delivered in the most effective manner.
Continuous Improvement:
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Conduct studies and recommend modifications to present processing facilities in coordination with concerned Departments while proposing replacement of equipment with newly introduced technological innovations in the industry as found feasible for company operations to promote operational levels.
Assist the Group Head in the smooth implementation of all related modifications and new installations as appropriate upon approval by the Manager and concerned Departments.
Provide inputs and suggestions for the continuous improvement of ADOC’s Processing Section’s practices, systems, and processes taking into account ‘global best practices’, international standards to improve efficiency & cost effectiveness and productivity standards.
Periodical Reports:
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Prepare periodical and progress reports to keep management informed about the project progress and to facilitate decision making.
Ensure timely logging of project activities as per set standards in order to facilitate availability of historical data for future referencing purposes
Health, Safety & Environment:
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Generator Section) shall
Ensure compliance to all relevant occupational health, safety, environment, and quality management procedures and controls within the unit to guarantee employee occupational health, safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.
