Job Description

Qualification 

Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical/Chemical), Health, Safety or Environmental Sciences or an equivalent qualification. 

• Diploma in Safety Management of equivalent qualification 
• NEBOSH International General Certificate(IGC) 

Experience 

5-8 years of experience of which at leave 5 years as HSE Engineer in the Oil & Gas Industry 

UAE Driving License

• As a specialist of HSSE, HSE Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing HSSE policies, procedures, & manuals to meet the level requirement, establishing proper HSEE system of work, conducting risk assessment, providing necessary HSSE training, monitoring the HSSE performance auditing and proposing improvement action.  
• Develop the annual HSSE budgets based on annual HSSE plans and ensure all the related operations are carried out in compliance with the approved budgets and time line. 
• Develop, implement and review regularly HSSE section management & maintenance policies, procedures and systems in alignment to legal requirement and best practices to improve operational performance. Communicate the approved operational procedures and instructions to subordinates and other department, and monitor their work being carried out in a controlled manner. 
• Identify material/equipment required for any HSSE activities according to HSSE annual plan, work requisition by other department and coordinate with HSSE supervisor, SE manager and other department for timely availability of all requirements. 
• Provide awareness programs across the facility to transfer knowledge to all parties and thereby support compliance to set standards. Complete and follow up timely all related administrative tasks to meet organizational requirements. Identify the training needs and establish of job targets for all the jobs under direct supervision, and implement the approved on the job training properly in accordance with the company training and development system policy and procedure and development programs of staff within the section. 
• Shall prepare tender documents and participate in technical evaluations of tendering process to facilitate effective selection of contractors to suit project requirements (only applies to projects related to HSSE studies and drafting of policies, procedures, manual etc to facilitate Company HSSE strategy0 
• Manage the contracting process to ensure timely and efficient acquiring of outsourced services to achieve the Company HSE studies requirements through the negotiation/selection of appropriately qualified consultants at the optimum price and required quality standards. 
• Verify contract documentation to ensure scope of work project deliverables and time frames are in line with business objectives. 
• Aggressively administer the contracts to ensure that both contracting parties fulfil their obligations. 
• Conduct HSSE audits across company’s operations to check compliance with established Company requirements. Analyze audit results, prepare report and communicate findings to all line management with recommendations for corrective actions to fulfil established HSSE requirements.  

Work Location 

Abu Dhabi Office (with frequent offshore visit) 

Working Hours 

Abu Dhabi: 7:00 to 15:00 (Sunday to Thursday) 

Offshore: 06:30 to 18:30 (1 hr lunch break) 

Leave Cycle 

30 days paid leave with air ticket after 150 days
